Booting a Terminal

Powering the terminal on does not boot the system or initialize the program or data. To
initialize the terminal, perform either a warm or cold boot.

Warm Boot

A warm boot resets the operating system while preserving the program and data on
the RAM disk. This process is similar to pressing the <Ctrl+Alt+Del> keys on a PC,
except that it does not clear the system's memory. To perform a warm boot:
21-Key Terminal:
1.
Power off the terminal.
2.
Press and hold <DownArrow> and <.>.
3.
Press and release <I/O>.
4.
Release <DownArrow> and <.>.
35-Key Terminal:
1.
Power off the terminal.
2.
Press and hold </> and <+>.
3.
Press and release <PWR>.
4.
Release </> and <+>.
46-Key Terminal:
1.
Power off the terminal.
2.
Press and hold <4> and <5>.
3.
Press and release <PWR>.
4.
Release <4> and <5>.
47-Key Terminal:
1.
Power off the terminal.
2.
Press and hold <4> and <5>.
3.
Press and release <PWR>.
4.
Release <4> and <5>.
