PPP Protocol

8.10.1 Introduction
The PPP (Point-to-Point) protocol provides a mechanism to transmit datagrams of various protocols over a
point-to-point link. PPP supports data transmission both in synchronous and asynchronous forms and
provides the following services:

LCP (Link Control Protocol) link establishment control, to establish, configure and test the link.

Encapsulation to transmit datagrams over the link.
