Static Routing

9.2.1
Adding a Route to a Router
To add IP network or subnet static routes to the routing table, use the route command.
The destination is specified by an IP address (Network, Subnet, Host) together with a mask. For example, if
the destination is a subnet of a class B network, and the third byte of the IP address is used as the subnet
portion, the address mask would be set to 255.255.255.0.
The route to the destination is specified by the IP address of the next-hop, and the cost of routing the packet
to the destination.
The next hop may be:
An IP address pertaining to a network directly connected to a local interface.
-
An interface. If an output interface is specified, you can also specify the IP address for the next
-
hop through the said interface.
An IP address which is accessible through another route from the routing table (indirect routes):
-
recursive routing.
In addition to the next hop, you can also specify the following parameters for each configured route.
distance <10-255>; Permits you to specify the route's administrative distance.
track nsla-advisor <1-65535>;
route <red o host> <mascara> <salto> [<coste>] [track nsla-advisor<id>]
route 128.1.2.0 255.255.255.0 128.185.123.22 6
To delete a static route, use the same command preceded by the word "NO".

Prior Verifications
If there are IP problems with the router, first verify the status of the interfaces. Go to device monitoring and
see if the interface is up through the previously explained "CONFIGURATION" command.
Next, use the "INTERFACE ADDRESSES" command to see the IP addresses for the router's interfaces.
Each address appears with its corresponding hardware interface and its IP address mask.
Using this command you can also view the special IP addresses that are active in the device: internal IP
address, management IP address, router-ID and global IP address.
The global IP address is the internal IP address in cases where this is configured, the router-id in cases
where this coincides with one configured in an interface, or the first IP address configured in a router
interface.
