Help Functions
In all processes there is a command "?" (HELP). This gives information on the commands that can be used
with the prompt, not only in the Console Manager ("*"), but also in the configuration ("Config>" and
"Config$") and monitoring ("+") processes.
To obtain a list of options permitted in the said command, enter a "?" mark after any command.
The tabulation ("tab") key can also be used to automatically complete a command or option when
enough characters have already been entered to uniquely identify the command or option.
6.4.2
GESTON Process Commands
The GESTCON process (P1) allows for configuration and monitoring of device operation parameters.
During the GESTCON process, the Router will process and transfer data traffic. When the device is
switched on and enters the GESTCON process the copyright information on the device, together with an
asterisk "*" will appear at the connected local terminal. This asterisk "*" is the prompt for GESTCON process
which is the main user interface permitting access to all other processes. Most changes made in the Router
operation parameters in the GESTCON process have an immediate effect (it is not necessary to restart the
device.)
From the GESTCON process it is possible to access a set of commands that permit status checks of the
processes, monitor the device interface, packet transference efficiency, as well as the configuration of
various parameters.
