Scheduling

MasterDirectory enables you to schedule the time of day and specific actions you want performed
automatically. Using the Scheduling feature, you can specify MasterDirectory to perform the following
procedures for a directory at specific times of the day:
•
execute a specific import map associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute all import maps associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute a specific export map associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute all of the export maps associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute a specific transfer map associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute a specific advanced query associated with the MasterDirectory file
•
execute an external command
•
execute the Build command
•
execute the Reindex command
The import maps, export maps, transfer maps, and advanced queries that you can use are the same maps
listed in the Import Maps dialog box, the Export Maps dialog box, the Transfer Maps dialog box, and the
Advanced Query dialog box. You must have specified import or export maps in the Import Maps or Export
Maps dialog boxes to use them. Make sure that you enter the maps before attempting to schedule any
actions.
NOTE:
You cannot schedule an ACP server via an IP connection import map or an ACP server via a DCP
connection import map as a timed action. These two types of import maps can be scheduled only as
unattended actions
To schedule an action:
1. From the Tools menu, choose Scheduler.
The Schedule dialog box appears.
