Upgrading the Firmware

The following paragraphs let you know what items need to be replaced on the touch
panels and the procedures involved to upgrade your panel to the new version 3.xx
firmware. The two main items to be upgraded on a panel are the EPROM chips and
the RAM ICs (integrated circuits) memory.
Firmware upgrades for all panels, other than the 10.4" panels are EPROM based, as
opposed to the mode of upgrade for the 10.4" panels which is SOFTROM. The
EPROM chips are pre-loaded with the firmware, and can be obtained from the factory
or dealer and then installed into the touch panel circuit board.
