NOTE: When replacing electrolyte, the rate of sparging should be in-
creased to facilitate the removal of dissolved oxygen from the
electrolyte. Once the oxygen level falls below 100 PPB, the sparge
rate should be reduced to a minimum.
9. Calibrate the analyzer using either the Faradaic calibrator or a
certified span gas.
10. When the signal output drops to a very low level, adjust the zero to
offset the background signal.
11. Return to the Analyze mode to resume sample gas analysis.

Scrubber Maintenance

The oxygen scrubber is a replaceable (P/N C58750) or rechargeable compo-
nent. With normal use, the scrubber usually lasts for several years. The scrubber
is designed specifically for the Model 3060E. If oxygen readings drift or the
analyzer will not zero, the scrubber may need replacing or recharging. Contact
the factory for recharging the scrubber.
NOTE: When the scrubber has deteriorated, it does not remove oxygen
from the sample gas. Attempting to scrub oxygen down to the single
digit PPB level with a spent scrubber may actually increase the
oxygen content in the sample gas.

Troubleshooting

To troubleshoot the analyzer, identify the problem in the following list and then
follow the procedures to correct the problem. If you cannot identify the
problem, or if you cannot resolve the problem after following the corrective
procedure, call a service representative.
