and the actions to be taken. After taking appropriate action, re-execute the command.
578 Troubleshooting
Cause
An attempt to allocate the
configuration file failed.
(ALLOCATION FAILED is
output in the YKS086E
message.)
The configuration file is
being used.
(UNAVAILABLE DATASET
is output in the YKS086E
message.)
The configuration file
dataset format is invalid.
(DSORG, RECFM, LRECL, or
BLKSIZE is output in the
YKS086E message.)
An error occurred while
editing the configuration file
by using the EXECIO
TSO/E REXX command.
The name of a configuration
file is too long.

Recommended Action
There is not enough free capacity on the device
or VTOC. Check the required device capacity
and allocate a sufficient amount of free
capacity.
The configuration file to be used is being used
by another user. Make sure that the user is a
valid user.
The YKS086E message displays the dataset
format that causes the error and the correct
dataset format. Delete the configuration file in
which the error has occurred, check the dataset
format and the required device capacity, and
then reallocate a configuration file.
One of the possible causes is an extent
allocation failure. Depending on the
configuration, the correct allocation might not
be possible when allocation using a
configuration file is performed, because the
system default values are used for the amount
of capacity for primary allocation and
secondary allocation. In this case, take either
of the following actions:
Delete the configuration file in which an
error occurred, check the dataset format and
the required device capacity, and then
reallocate a configuration file.
Use CLIST ICQSPC00 to increase free
capacity in the configuration file. For details
on CLIST ICQSPC00, see the TSO/E
Customization.
The length of the configuration file name
exceeds 44 characters.
Stop creating the configuration file, and then
re-create it so that the file name is no more than
44 characters.
