4.
Re-define the log stream.
5.
You can now log back on to TSO/E again and execute CLI commands.
#
You cannot delete the log stream while CLI commands are executing. As a result, be sure to
temporarily stop a CLI command execution to delete the log stream. If you cannot stop a CLI
command execution, execute the FORCE IXGLOGR,ARM command to stop the system logger
service, execute the S IXGLOGRS command to restart the system logger service, and then delete
the log stream.

Performing Operations When a Failure Occurs for a Volume in a Copy Group

When a volume in a copy group suffers a hardware failure, you must remove the cause of the
failure and perform a recovery as soon as possible. Use the methods shown in
570)
if you still need to perform the operations after a failure occurs, but before a recovery can be
performed.
Table 104 Operation Methods For When a Failure Occurs But Before a Recovery Is Performed
No.
Type of Operation
1
When failure occurs for a volume in a copy
group, to operate a copy pair other than the
one for which failure has occurred
2
To operate and monitor the status transition of
the volume for which failure has occurred,
without affecting other copy pairs
3
To execute the YKDELETE command with the
DEVN parameter specified to dissolve copy
pairs individually.
4
To remake copy pairs that have been dissolved
using the YKDELETE command with the DEVN
parameter specified (when dissolving copy
pairs individually).
5
When executing the YKSUSPND command or
YKRESYNC command for a copy group with a
C/T group ID, to look up the cause of the error
(error code).

Recovering from a Cnt Ac-J Z Failure

This section explains how to recover from a Cnt Ac-J Z failure.

Types of Failures

The types of Cnt Ac-J Z failure are as follows:
Failure during a failover
PSOFF or severed power
Others
Lack of copy pairs
Inter-disk controller communication failure/full journal
570 Troubleshooting
Operation Method
Continue operation by specifying the VOLUNIT
parameter and SELECT(COND) parameter.
Use the DEVN parameter to specify the copy
pairs of the volume for which failure has
occurred, and perform operation and status
monitoring on a copy pair basis. To monitor
status transition when there are many volumes
for which failure have occurred, use the
NOINVALIDCHECK parameter of the YKEWAIT
command.
Until the copy pairs are recovered
(resynchronized), specify the SELECT(COND)
parameter when executing commands for the
copy group to which the copy pairs belong.
Specify the DEVN parameter for the YKMAKE
command to remake copy pairs on a copy pair
basis. Then, to monitor the status transition for
the copy pairs, specify the DEVN parameter for
the YKEWAIT command.
Execute commands with the VOLUNIT
parameter specified, on a volume basis.
