Ethernet-Type Line Problems (ESS)
• EID takes a snapshot of the current condition of all the ESS active counters. If
the counters overflow their defined (sysgen) limits, the counters will be reset to
zero. Therefore, EID cannot be used to determine any grand totals of counter
conditions.
The following explanations of current counters are given for information.
TOTAL XMIT FRAMES LOST-Is the total of:
EXCESS COLLISION counter, plus
LATE COLLISION' counter.
TOTAL RCVD FRAMES LOST Is the total of:
TOTAL XMIT FRAMES
TOTAL RCVD FRAMES
. .NO BUFFER AVAILABLE counter, plus
CRC ERROR counter, plus
FRAMING ERROR counter, plus
FRAME> 1518 BYTES counter.
Is the total transmitted frames, including the TOTAL
XMIT FRAMES LOST.
Is the total received frames, including the TOTAL
RCVD FRAMES LOST.
