Do one of the following:

• If there is spare Lie, go to step 7.
• If there is no spare Lie, but spare port(s) are defined for failihg lines:
Perform a port swap. Refer to the 3745 Advanced Operations Guide.
If the problem persists:

• Replace and configure the
LIe,
as described in the 3745 Connection 'and
Integration Guide.
• Follow steps 4, 5, and 6 beginning page 9-45. If the test is successful,
reactivate the line.

Locate the Lie to be tested and plug in the IBM 5869 Portable Keypad Display
(PKD) as described in the 3745 Connection and Integration Guide.
Various messages can be displayed on the PKD before you perform the Lie line
analysis procedure (LLAP). These are described under "Lie Messages (Lle6)'" on
page 9-50.
