Make sure that the local and remote modems are:
• Powered on.
• Operational (not in test mode). _
• Correctly connected to the port (see the 3745 Connection and Integration
Guide).

Make sure that the remote control unit is operational.

Perform self-tests on the DCE.
Refer to the DCE documentation.
If correct, perform DCE-to-DCE tests (end-to-end). Refer to the DCE documentation.
