If you press and hold the power switch for 4 seconds or longer, the "Slide to shut down your PC" screen will appear without the computer
entering sleep or hibernation.
If you press and hold it for 10 seconds or longer, the computer will turn the power off (forcibly shut down). In this case, any unsaved data will
be lost.
In sleep or hibernation
Do not attach or remove peripheral devices. Doing so may cause malfunction.

Power is consumed in sleep.
l
When power is exhausted, the data retained in memory will be lost. Connect the AC adaptor when the computer is in the sleep function for a
prolonged time.
Resuming from sleep or hibernation
Perform one of the following operation.
Sleep
l
Press the power switch (A) or
l
Open the display.
l
Touch the keyboard or touchpad.
l
Hibernation
l
Press the power switch (A).
l
Open the display.
l
I M P ORTANT
Do not perform the following operations until resuming is complete. After the display is resumed, wait approximately 15
l
seconds (normally) or 60 seconds (when the computer is on a network).
Touch the keyboard, touchpad, touchscreen, tablet buttons, or power switch.
l
Use an external mouse or other peripheral devices.
l
Connect or disconnect the AC adaptor or USB Power Delivery.
l
Close or open the display.
l
Shut down or restart Windows.
l
Enter sleep or hibernation.
l
If the computer enters sleep while an external keyboard or external mouse is connected, touching the external keyboard
l
keys or external mouse will resume the computer.
