An error is displayed when this adjustment
is carried out without the four head tem-
perature sensor adjustment jigs installed
or when an erroneous jig is used.
However, even if an error is displayed,
completion marks "O" are displayed at the
top right of the message display at the side
'of the number corresponding to the posi-
tions of cartridges whose compensation
values have been successfully determined
and written internally by the printer.
In this case, "0" refers to the position of the
cartridge "Bk", "1" to "C", "2" to "M" and "3"
to "Y".

Repeat steps 2) to 8) and carry out the same
adjustment on the positions of the three Cyan,
Magenta and Yellow cartridges.
CAUTION
Completion marks "O" displayed for each
of the cartridge positions indicate that the
adjustment is completed even if an error is
displayed.
10) Remove the head temperature sensor adjust-
ment jig.
8. Clearing the Waste Ink Counter
The waste ink counter must be cleared to "O"
after the waste ink tank has been replaced.
The waste ink counter must be cleared and the
waste ink tank replaced at the same time.
CAUTION
If a malfunction has cleared the waste ink
counter, the waste ink tank must be re-
placed with a new one.
Reference
The value of the waste ink counter can be
checked by Setup List.
1) Set the printer to the service mode, and select
"Clear Waste Tank."
