3. Media Length Detection
When cut sheet media is loaded, the media is
fed until its trailing edge passes the cut sheet trailing
edge sensor (PS7). The engine controller detects
the length of the media by the amount that the
media is fed.
The media length is calculated by the following
lengths:

Length that the leading edge is fed after
leaving the media discharge sensor (PS6)
il: Distance from the media discharge sensor
(PS6) to the cut sheet trailing edge sensor
(PS7) (193 mm)
lll: Length that the trailing edge is fed after
leaving the cut sheet trailing edge sensor
(PS7)

4. Print Standby Position
Media that is fed on the platen stops at a
position fed by the leading edge margin (about 35
mm) from the cartridge head (Bk) , and the printer
stands by to print the first band.

the printing standby position by a spur to prevent it
from rising up from the platen.
