Pay attention to the following points when han-
dling the printer.
A. Bubble Jet Cartridge
* Do not touch the head surface.
Do not wipe the head surface with cloth or paper.
Do not touch the electrode.
Do not subject the cartridge to shock or impact.
Do not place cartridge removed from the carriage
face down.
Do not shake cartridge after peeling off the pro-
tective tape. Doing so might cause ink to splash.
Remove the cartridge from the printer only for
replacement.
Open the package of the new cartridge immedi-
ately before replacing.
Do not dismantle or modify the cartridge.

B. Media Storage Conditions
Store the media in a place where the relative
humidity range is 25 to 75%. If using the printer in
an environment where the relative humidity is
outside of this range, unpack the media and allow
it to acclimatize for some time before loading.
Wrap media in its package, and store in a low-
moisture location out of the direct sunlight.
Store media on flat surface.
C. Media
Hold media by its edges to prevent oil on your
hands adhering to the media. It is recommended
wearing cotton gloves.
Do not use curled, foided or wrinkled media.
Before using media, take media out of its pack-
age one sheet at a time.
Wrap left-over media in the wrapping paper, and
store in a low-humidity location out of the direct
sunlight.

D. Printed Media
¢ Ink is water-soluble. So, do not touch the ink on
printed areas with wet or moist fingers after
printing.
* Do not store printed media in the direct sunlight.
Doing so might cause the media to become
discolored.
* Store printed media in low-humidity locations.
