SECTION 17—INSTALLING LOW SHEAR RECLINER

Changing the Low Shear Recline

NOTE: For this procedure refer to the above component charts and FIGURE 17.6 on page 153, FIGURE 17.7 on page 154, and
FIGURE 17.8 on page 155.
Removing
1. Review Low Shear Recline Identification on page 149 before adjusting low shear recline.
2. Remove the mounting screws, washers, and pivot bushings that secure the upper/ lower links to the inside/outside
backrest brackets.
3. If necessary, remove the mounting screw, washers, and spacer that secures the upper link to the back cane mounting
bracket.
Installing
1. Review Low Shear Recline Identification on page 149 before adjusting low shear recline.
2. If necessary, secure the upper link to the back cane mounting bracket in the orientation determined in STEP 1. Tighten
securely
3. Secure the upper/ lower links to the inside/outside backrest brackets with mounting screws, washers, and pivot
bushings. Tighten securely.
