Removing/Installing the Forks

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 12.5.
Removing
1. Remove the dust cap.
2. Remove the locknut from the fork stem.
3. Slide the stem out of the caster head tube.
4. Remove two washers from inside the caster head tube.
5. Remove the two washers and spacer from the fork stem.
6. If replacing the fork, remove the caster. Refer to Removing/Installing the Forks on page 111.
Installing
1. If replacing the fork, install new caster. Refer to
2. Install spacer and two washers onto fork stem.
3. Insert fork stem into caster head tube.
4. Install two washers onto fork stem.
5. Secure fork stem in place with locknut. Tighten securely.
6. Install dust cap.
