Chapter 7
Care and Cleaning
Care for the STU 111/SECTEL is simple and easy. The terminal is
constructed of high-impact plastic and metal that has been coated
with a scuff-resistant finish. All electronics are installed to
withstand minor shocks and vibrations associated with everyday
use. Treat the terminal as carefully as a piece of sophisticated
computer equipment.
To keep the terminal looking good and working well, follow these
guidelines.
Keep the surface of the STU 111/SECTEL clean by wiping it with a
soft cloth. If the finish is stained, moisten a soft cloth with a mild
soap and gently rub the stain until it is removed. Use extreme
caution when cleaning the message display lens to avoid
scratching it. Never use detergents, ammonia, or abrasive
substances; they can mar the surface of the terminal.
The STU 111/SECTEL contains components that can be damaged if
the terminal is subjected to sudden or severe impacts. Do not drop
or strike it at any time.
The connectors used on the STU 111/SECTEL's power converter
cord, handset coiled cord, telephone line cord, and power line cord
should not be subjected to excessive stress or strain. Do not pull
on any cords or place any cords where people may trip over them.
