When power is applied, the terminal will automatically run an
internal diagnostics (self-test) program to verify that it is
functioning properly. If the terminal is functioning properly, the
message "RINGER MEDIUM-HI" will be displayed. If not, an error
message will be displayed, refer to Chapter 8, Troubleshooting, for
more information.
NOTE
If
the message display is blank and the cords are connected properly, check to
ensure that the Message Display Contrast Adjustment knob is properly
positioned. Refer to Chapter 2, Controls and Indicators, for more information.
The STU 111/SECTEL is now fully connected and a clear mode call
is possible.
Ringer Volume Adjustment
The factory default setting for the ringer volume is RINGER
MEDIUM-HI. There are four other ringer volume options available:
RINGER HIGH, RINGER MEDIUM-LOW, RINGER LOW, and
RINGER OFF.
Use the following procedure to adjust the ringer volume:

Place handset on-hook.

until the desired setting appears on
the message display.
Software Configuration
Your unit comes from the factory with preset software
configurations, or defaults. These are shown as Table 3-1 below.
