Motorola will provide detailed shipping and handling instructions,
including a Return Authorization Number, to users whose
terminals require depot service. In addition, users will be asked to
identify their designated contact point, phone number and
inventory control or COMSEC account number.
NOTE
When calling the administrative toll·free number concerning equipment
returned for service. be prepared to provide the Return Authorization Number
to the Motorola staffer.
OUTSIDE CONUS PACKING AND SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS
When you contact the Depot for shipping authorization you will be
given complete instructions regarding packaging and other
safeguards.
However, if you plan or need to return the terminal from any
outside CONUS location without prior contact with the Depot,
please follow the instructions below:
• Do NOT ship any CIKs or fill devices to the Depot.
• Verify operation of terminal per the instruction and/or
troubleshooting section(s).
• Include a description of the fault as it occurred.
• Provide a return shipping address or CONUS contact name and
phone number.
• Zeroize your unit - if you cannot, special handling will be
required!
• Clear your memory redial keys.
• Remove memory labels.
• Contact your CONUS Inventory Representative requesting that
the Depot be notified of upcoming shipment.
• If possible, ship the STU 111/SECTEL in the original shipping
container.
• Comply with current security regulations.
