Verify that the number shown on the message display is
correct, including all long distance access codes and pauses.
If not, press

twice, and repeat step 5.

Press the selected memory dial key. Once the memory dial
key is pressed, the terminal will transfer the number on the
message display to that memory dial key and the message
display will blank.
@To continue programming memory dial keys, repeat steps 3
through 7 until all memory dial keys are programmed.
@Once all desired keys have been programmed, press

PRGM

On the display, the PRGM annunciator will go out and the
STU III/SECTEL will return to the idle mode.
Labeling the Memory Dial Keys
A paper label, protected by a plastic shield, has been provided
between the two rows of memory dial keys to identify the dialing
sequence assigned to each key. After programming the memory
dial keys, remove the plastic shield by placing a finger at each end
of the shield and squeezing in, causing the plastic shield to bow up.
Identify the memory dial key by writing in the appropriate area of
the label, and replace the plastic shield. This labeling technique
should also be used in labeling multiline keys.
Using the Memory Dial Keys
Once the memory dial keys have been programmed, they are
ready to be used for fast dialing. Follow the procedure below to
use the memory dial keys:

Lift the handset.

While watching the message display, press the desired
memory dial key. As the number appears on the message
display, it is being dialed automatically.

If the number shown on the message display is not correct or
the dialing sequence must be stopped for any reason, either
press

RESET

or hang up.
