TROUBLESHOOTING

If the fuel pump fails to operate.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Rider seat
2. Fuel tank cover
3. Fuel tank
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, ignition, backup 2, and fuel
injection system)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUS-
ES" on page 8-40.

2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-41.
OK↓
3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-39.
OK↓
4. Check the stop/run/start switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-39.

5. Check the relay unit (fuel pump re-
lay).
Refer to "CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS" on page 8-42.

6. Check the fuel pump.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUEL
PUMP OPERATION" on page 7-4.

7. Check the entire fuel pump sys-
tem's wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM" on
page 8-33.

NG→ Replace the fuse(s).
• Clean the battery terminals.
NG→
• Recharge or replace the battery.
NG→ Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.
NG→ Replace the handlebar switch (right).
NG→ Replace the relay unit.
NG→ Replace the fuel pump.
Properly connect or repair the fuel pump
NG→
system's wiring.
