Leveling the Mower Deck

Preparing to Level the Deck
1.
Park the machine on a flat level surface.
2.
Lower the mower deck and set the deck-lift lever
to the float position.
3.
Check bent or damaged mower blades or
wing-blade disks, refer to
(page
72).
Note:
Replace bent or damaged blades and
disks before leveling the deck.
Leveling the Mower Deck Left to
Right
1.
Adjust the height of cut to the 75 mm (3 inches)
position
(Figure
121).

Shut off the engine and remove the key.
3.
Align a wing blade to the outermost position
(Figure

Inspecting the Blades

4.
Measure the distance between the ground and
the outermost point of the cutting edge of the
blade with a gauge block
Record your
measurement here:
5.
Align the wing blade at the other side of the
mower deck to the outermost position

6.
Measure the distance between the ground and
the outermost point of the blade cutting edge
with a gauge block
Record your
measurement here:
7.
If the difference between the measurements
is greater than 3.2 mm (1/8 inch), perform the
following:

Loosen the 2 nuts securing the leveling link
(Figure
123).
