Transfer Belt Cleaning Mechanism

• The Cleaning Blade scrapes any residual toner off the surface of the Transfer Belt.
• The Cleaning Blade uses a fixed blade method in which the blade is in constant contact
with Transfer Belt.
• After the power is turned ON and a predetermined number of copies are printed, the
Transfer Belt is turned backward for a predetermined period of time to remove residual
toner and paper dust wedged between the Cleaning Blade and Transfer Belt.

Cleaning the 2nd Image Transfer Roller

• To remove residual toner from the surface of the 2nd Image Transfer Roller, a reverse
bias is output intermittently to the roller.
• The residual toner is moved to the surface of the Transfer Belt, and collected by the
Cleaning Blade.
• Cleaning is initiated when the Power Switch is turned ON or Front Door is opened/closed
or when jam or trouble returns occur.
