FPN Correction Using Triggered Acquisition
FPN correction provides the best image quality if FPN calibration is performed under
normal operating conditions. This depends on how the sensor is triggered:
-
If
TriggerMode
is set to FreeRunning, then the camera is constantly acquiring images from the
sensor. In this configuration no special care is required for FPN calibration.
-
If
TriggerMode
should be provided to the camera at the same rate they will be provided in
normal camera operation. If no triggers are provided, the FPN calibration will fail

Automatic FPN Calibration
The camera can optionally be configured to automatically recalibrate the FPN
correction, depending on the value of autoShutterMode:
-
Off: the camera will never trigger an FPN calibration on its own;
-
Temperature: the camera will trigger an FPN recalibration if its internal
temperature drifts more than
calibration;
-
Time: the camera will trigger an FPN recalibration if more than
autoShutterMaxDelay
-
TimeTemperature: FPN recalibration will be triggered if either the temperature or
time criteria is exceeded.
