Measuring the source-image-distance (SID)

Prerequisites for measuring the SID and patient size:
• If the X-ray tube is not perpendicular to the DR detector reference plane,
the angle must not exceed 20 degrees.
• The table or mattress or the patient's body is not covered by a material that
is highly reflective, highly absorbent (black) or transparant
To measure the source-image-distance (SID) and patient size, the position of
the DR detector must be pointed out first.
1. On the live camera image, touch an area that is part of the DR detector
reference plane.
• If the DR detector is visible, touch the DR detector.
• If the patient is lying on the DR detector, touch a visible part of the
mattress or tabletop.
The live camera image is turned into a still image and the selected area is
visualized with a semi-transparant green overlay.
