If you wish to keep your DTE rate fixed, you should choose a buff-

+ DTR / 108.2
108.2 + RST
Note:
Not all computers provide a DTR signal at their serial port connector.
If this is true for your computer (e.g., Apple Macintosh), you must
use the IGNORED setting (AT&D0).
DCD OPTIONS

CARRIER
ALWAYS ON
Modem serial port speed is always fixed, no
AT&B1
matter what link rate (modem speed) is con-
nected. If S44.6=1 and a non-ARQ connec-
tion is made, DTE rate follows link rate as if
&B0 were set. (Default)
Modem serial port speed is set in accordance
AT&B0
with the link rate. If S44.6=1, the DTE speed
is fixed at 38400 bps when the link speed is
above 9600, at 9600 when the link speed is
7200, and at link speed when it is below 7200.
The modem assumes that DTR is always ON
AT&D0
and ignores the DTR signal on the serial port.
An OFF-ON DTR transition causes the modem to
AT&D1
dial the number specified under the DEFAULT
DIAL of the MODEM OPTIONS submenu. An
ON-OFF transition disconnects the modem from
the line.
An ON-OFF transition of the DTR signal will dis-
AT&D2
connect the modem from the line. (Default)
Same as &D2 but DTR OFF also causes reset
AT&D3
from profile 0.
DCD ON when a carrier is detected (see also
AT&C1
S38b3). If S42.7=1, DCD only pulses off for
0.5 sec when carrier loss occurs. (Default)
The modem forces DCD to always remain ON.
