Secure the cable management arm with hook-and-loop fasteners around the back side of the cable
management arm, but not around the cables.
Placing a stand-alone 9009-41A or 9009-41G system into the service position to work with the
system processor or the system backplane
Use this procedure to place an IBM Power System S914 (9009-41A or 9009-41G) server into the service
position to work with the system processor or the system backplane.
Before you begin
The recommended service position for working with the system processor or the system backplane is to
lay the system sideways. You do not need to lift the system.
CAUTION: This system requires two people to tip the system onto its side.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Complete the following steps to place a stand-alone system into the service position:
a) Label and remove all cables that connect to the system.
b) Remove the power supplies from the system to lighten the system.
