OPERATION
METHOD FOR CHECKING BEFORE STARTING
Always check the items in this section before starting the engine each day.
METHOD FOR DRAINING WATER AND SEDIMENT FROM FUEL TANK
Perform this procedure before operating the machine.
Prepare a container to catch drained fuel.
1.
Open the fuel tank inspection cover on the right side of the
machine.
2.
Pass the hose through the hole at the bottom of the tank.
3.
Prepare a container to catch the drained fuel.
4.
Turn lower drain valve (1) in the cover to OPEN position
(O).
The sediment and water accumulated in the bottom are
drained together.
Be careful not to get fuel on yourself.
5.
When clean fuel flows out, turn drain valve (1) to CLOSE
position (C).
METHOD FOR CHECKING WATER SEPARATOR, DRAINING WATER AND SEDI-
MENT
The water separator serves to separate water mixed in the fuel.
Prepare a container to catch the water and sediment.
1.
Open the engine side cover on the left side of the ma-
chine.
The water separator is in one piece with fuel prefilter (1)
and located in the lower part.
2.
Check the water level and sediment through transparent
cup (2).
3.
If water and sediment are accumulated, drain them.
1)
Pull out drain hose (3) from holder (4).
2)
Take the end of drain hose (3) out of the machine.
3)
Prepare a container to catch the water and sediment
at the end of drain hose (3).
4)
Loosen plug (5) and drain the water.
5)
When fuel starts draining from drain hose (3), tighten plug (5) immediately.
6)
Put drain hose (3) into holder (4).
Tightening torque: 0.2 to 0.45 Nm {0.02 to 0.046 kgm, 0.14 to 0.33 lbft}
