15. When you replace the system board, update the server firmware, as described
in "Restoring System x firmware (BIOS) settings" on page 277.
16. From the module terminal application on the file module that is being
repaired, issue the following Advanced Settings Utility (ASU) commands to
reset the serial number and the product name of the new system board:
asu set SYSTEM_PROD_DATA.SysInfoSerialNum KQ3497D --kcs
asu set SYSTEM_PROD_DATA.SysInfoProdName 7947PCV --kcs
Replace KQ3497D with the serial number of the file module.
Replace 7947PCV with the system type of the file module.
17. From the affected management file module terminal application, issue the
following ASU commands to set the boot order:
asu set BootOrder.BootOrder "Legacy Only=CD/DVD Rom=Floppy Disk=PXE Network=Hard Disk 0"
To verify that the boot order has been properly set, issue the following
command:
asu show BootOrder.BootOrder
For example:
[root@PFESONAS1.mgmt001st001 ~]# asu show BootOrder.BootOrder

18. From the affected management file module terminal application, use the
Advanced Settings Utility (ASU) to verify the settings for the PCI slots in the
interface file module.
# asu show all --kcs | grep uEFI.PCIeGenSelection
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.1=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.10=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.11=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.12=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.13=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.14=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.15=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.16=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.2=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.3=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.4=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.5=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.6=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.7=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.8=Gen2
uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.9=Gen2
All PCI slots on the system board are set to Gen2 in the replacement system
board by default.
A problem might arise when an older adapter is not recognized at the
power-on self test (POST) because the adapter requires a Gen1 setting.
To set the slots on the new system board just as the slots were set on the
original system board and avoid such a problem, use the settings information
that you recorded before removing the system board.
To change the appropriate settings from Gen2 to Gen1, use the ASU. For
example, if slot 2 must be Gen1 on the file management module that is being
repaired, issue the following command from the terminal application file
management module that is being repaired:
asu set uEFI.PCIeGenSelection.2 Gen1 --kcs
