Opening the tower

To open the tower, you need a screwdriver. Depending
on which hardware components you work with inside
the tower, you might need a set of small screwdrivers.
Each time you open your tower, you must follow specific
safety procedures to ensure you do not damage your
computer. For your safety and the safety of your
equipment, follow these steps when you remove the
tower cover:
1.
If your computer is on, turn off the system, the
monitor, and any external components, such as a
printer.
2.
Unplug all cables and cords from the tower except
the tower power cord. Be sure to disconnect any
telephone line connections too.
3.
Remove the tower cover. The cover on the tower is
attached to the frame with two screws. It also
slides along grooves that run along the sides of the
frame. Follow these steps:

Remove the screws.
