Check diskette drive activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
checks your diskette drive to determine whether you are
using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while the
diskette drive is active. If your computer enters Standby,
it will return to the desktop when the diskette drive
becomes active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while the diskette drive is active.
Check serial port activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
monitors the serial port on the system board to
determine whether you are using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while the
serial port is active. If your computer enters Standby, it
will return to the desktop when the serial port becomes
active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while the serial port is active.

monitors the universal serial bus (USB) port on the
system board to determine whether you are using your
computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while the
USB port is active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while the USB port is active.
Check parallel port activity
Use this option to specify whether your computer
checks the parallel port to determine whether you are
using your computer.
If the Standby feature is enabled and you enable this
setting, your computer will not enter Standby while the
parallel port is active. If your computer enters Standby, it
will return to the desktop when the parallel port
becomes active.
If the Automatic Power Off feature is enabled and you
enable this setting, your computer will not turn itself off
while the parallel port is active.
