5. If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the off (O) position.
NOTE:
The PTX10003 powers on as soon as power is provided to the power supply. There is
no power switch on the router.
6. Insert the power cord plug into an AC power source outlet.
7. If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the on (|) position.
8. Verify that the status LEDs on each power supply are lit green.
If the status LED is lit amber, remove power from the power supply, and replace the power supply (see
"Maintaining the PTX10003 Power Supplies" on page

Connecting DC Power to the PTX10003

The DC power supply in a PTX10003 is a hot-removable and hot-insertable field-replaceable unit. You
can remove and replace it without powering off the router or disrupting router functions. You do, however,
need to remove power from the power supply before attempting to remove the unit.
