Exchange of equipment

Exchange of a I10 (/I10K) control unit against a I20 system
11.1.1
A R1000 I10 control unit can be replaced by a R1000 I20 system.
The following must thereby be considered.
1. Enclosure
The enclosure with the connections and mounting fixtures is not compatible.
2. Power consumption
The power consumption of the I20 can reach 15W, versus 10W for the I10 (/I10K).
3. External control via PLC inputs
The external I/O control of the I20 control unit corresponds to that of the I10 fieldbus system.
In addition, the functions "Reset error" and "Teach-In 2-sheet" have been installed.
The function "System test / Sensor gap control" of the I20 influences the signal "Enable" (see
timing diagrams).
4. PLC outputs
The signal "Warning" has been additionally installed.
5. Voltage supply of the I/O circuits
If the I/O inputs / outputs are used, then the voltage supply for the I/O circuits must also be
connected, since they are externally supplied. It is required to supply and connect the +24V as
well as the GND from the PLC.
6. Measurement functions
The I20 has a shorter measuring time.
With that new so-called sequencer mode several sensors can be more efficiently interrogated.
7. Sensors
The new sensors of the I20 system are completely different. Therefore the sensors of the I10
and I10K systems cannot be connected to the I20 equipment.
8. Sensor cable
The sensor cables of the I10 and I10K systems can no longer be used.
9. Configuration
The I20 offers new configuration features (For details refer to chapter 7.9).
