Optical circuit pack specifications
1645 AMC
Alcatel-Lucent 1645 AMC comply with FDA/CDRH 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11 as
Class I and IEC 60825-1 as a Class 1 Laser Product.
All optical interfaces are available as "Small Form-Factor Pluggable Optics" (SFPs). The
technical specifications of the optical interfaces are given in chapter 4, section
"Specifications" (p.
Power supply safety instructions
Overview
The 1645 AMC units can be powered as follows:
• DC (unit contains a 6-pin terminal block DC connector)
• AC (unit contains a protected 3-pin IEC 60320 connector).
Electrical safety
The installation must be compliant with IEC 60950–Ed3, 1999-04.
The equipment must be grounded (connected to protective earth) (Class I equipment).
DC power supply
Each equipment must be fitted when the equipment is installed, with an external, marked
and easily-identifiable protection device of 3 A maximum.
The equipment must be supplied with a Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) of –48 V and
the positive terminal of this source correctly connected to the protective earth.
The equipment can also be connected to a Telecommunication etwork Voltage (T V) of
–24 V to –60 V. o specific requirements are necessary for this type of source.
The user interfaces are of the SELV type and must only be connected to circuits with the
same type of interface.
The following power range must be observed: –18 VDC ... –72 VDC.
AC power supply
An external AC power distribution system classified IT cannot be used. (For IT
classification, see: IEC 60950–Ed3, 1999-04, Annex V: Power system isolated from earth
or one point connected to earth through an impedance and direct electrical connection of
the equipment to earth).
An external protection device is not necessary: the building installation is considered as
providing short-circuit backup protection (IEC 60950–Ed3, 1999-04, paragraph 2.7.3).
The user interfaces are of the SELV type and must only be connected to circuits with the
same type of interface.
