D JAM (EXIT UNIT OR BRIDGE UNIT)
SYMPTOM:
A paper jam may occur in the Exit Unit or the Bridge Unit under low humidity conditions. The paper is
stopped in the Exit Unit or the Bridge Unit.
CAUSE:
The jam occurs because static electricity builds up around the Sensor in the Exit Unit or the Bridge Unit.
SOLUTION:
A countermeasure to prevent the build up of static electricity has been created. The countermeasure
consists of a Relay Harness and Metal Plates. Follow the countermeasure procedure outlined below.

NOTE: The following action should be taken when a paper jam occurs at the Exit Unit.

Replace the Anti-Static Brush Assembly with the new type [A] (A2844460) after removing the Bushing
[B] (1 E-ring) and Gear [C].
NOTE: Although the groove of the frame can be located in both the front and back, the standard is for the
groove to be located in back [D]. The Grounding Plate Pawls for the rear groove should be set first, followed
by the setting of those for the front groove.
