STEERING SYSTEM
Toe-out adjustment
1. Place the snowmobile on a level surface.
2. Measure:
• Ski toe-out (
• Ski stance
Point the skis forward.
Out of specification → Adjust.
TIP
When measuring or adjusting the skis, turn the
ends inside.
Ski toe-out:
0 ~ 15.0 mm (0 ~ 0.59 in)
Ski stance (center to center):
1,086 mm (42.8 in)
3. Adjust:
• Ski toe-out
Adjustment steps:
• Remove the air filter case.
Refer to "COWLINGS" in CHAPTER 3.
• Remove the battery bracket.
Refer to "HOSE AND LEADS" in CHAPTER
5.
• Remove the relay rod.
Refer to "STEERING" in CHAPTER 3.
• Loosen the locknuts (tie-rods)
• Turn the tie rods
fied toe-out is obtained.
• Tighten the locknuts (tie-rods)
Tie-rod end locknut:
25 Nm (2.5 m•kgf, 18 ft•lbf)
LOCTITE
NOTICE
After tightening the inside and outside ball
joint locknuts
can be rotated freely through the ball joint
travel. If not, loosen the locknuts
reposition the ball joint so that the tie rods
can be rotated freely. Tighten the lock-
nuts to specification.
