DRIVE CHAIN HOUSING
TIP
Use a socket
outside diameter of the bearing race.
NOTICE
Do not strike the inner race
ings .
Contact only the outer race
• Install a new circlip (drive chain housing and
cover).
NOTICE
Always use new circlips.
2. Inspect:
• Drive sprocket
• Forward driven sprocket
• Reverse driven gear
• Reverse drive gear
• Counter gear
• Journal
• Chain tensioner
Pitting/wear/damage → Replace.
• Drive chain
Wear/damage → Replace.
Shift → Clean or replace.
• Shift lever assembly
• Bearing (chain tensioner)
Pitting/damage → Replace the bearing and
the collar (inner race) as a set.
