BRAKE CALIPER DISASSEMBLY
TIP
Before disassembling a caliper, drain brake
fluid from brake hose, master cylinder, brake
caliper and brake reservoir of their brake fluid.
1. Remove:
• Brake caliper pistons
• Brake caliper piston dust seals
• Brake caliper piston seals
Removal steps:
• Using a piece of wood
tons.
• Blow compressed air into the hose joint
opening
to force out the left piston from
the caliper body.
• Remove the piston seals and reinstall the pis-
ton.
• Repeat the previous steps to force out the
right piston from the caliper body.
WARNING
• Never try to pry out the pistons.
• Do not loosen the retaining bolts
