REMOVING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
1. Remove:
• rear shock absorber lower bolt
• rear shock absorber upper bolt
TIP
While removing the rear shock absorber lower
bolt, hold the swingarm so that it does not drop
down.
CHECKING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
1. Check:
• shock absorber
→
Oil leaks
Replace the rear shock absorber
assembly.
• shock absorber rod
Bends/damage
absorber assembly.
• spring
→
Fatigue
Replace the rear shock absorber
assembly.
Move the spring up and down.
REMOVING THE SWINGARM
1. Check:
• swingarm free play
a. Check the tightening torque of the pivot
shaft bolt (R) and nut (L).
75 Nm (7.5 m · kg, 54.2 ft · lb)
Swingarm free play limit
(at the end of the swingarm)
1.0 mm (0.04 in)
b. Check the swingarm side play
ing it from side to side.
If side play is noticeable, check the spacer,
bearings and frame pivot.
