Adjusting the play in the throttle cable
Main work
–
Check the routing of the throttle cable.
Both throttle cables must be routed side by side, downward behind the handle-
bars and between the air filter box and frame to the throttle valve body.

If the throttle cable is not routed as specified:
–
Correct the routing of the throttle cable.

Finishing work

Mount the side cover. (
–
Mount the seat. (
–
Check the throttle grip for smooth operation.
–
Move the handlebar to the straight-ahead position. Move the throttle grip back-
wards and forwards to ascertain the play in the throttle cable.

If the throttle cable play does not meet specifications:

Adjust the play in the throttle cable. (

Danger of poisoning Exhaust gases are toxic and inhaling them may result
in unconsciousness and/or death.

Start the engine and let it run idle. Move the handlebar to and fro over the entire
steering range.
The idle speed must not change.

If the idle speed changes:
–
Adjust the play in the throttle cable. (
Preparatory work

Remove the seat. (
–
Take off the side cover. (
–
Check the routing of the throttle cable. (
Main work
–
Move the handlebar to the straight-ahead position.
–
Use the KTM diagnostics tool to set the motor drive to the basic position.
–
Loosen counter nut
–
Set the play in the throttle cable by turning the adjusting screw

effective exhaust extraction system.
