Powering on the Handset

INITIAL SYSTEM
CONFIGURATION
IP4100 Install Sept., 2013
To power up the handset, press End. The handset searches for the base
station or multi-cell chain it is registered to and connects to the unit with
the strongest signal.
To power down the handset, press and hold End until the display turns
off, about four seconds.
The IP4100 base stations will be installed in a network environment
where the following are already installed and functioning:
Strata CIX or IPedge system
DHCP server - If the base stations acquire their IP addresses
dynamically (rather than being statically assigned), then the DHCP
server must be available at all times.
NTP server
TFTP server - The TFTP server must be available for firmware
updates and SIP log uploads. This server must contain the following
folders:
LOG: for SIP log files. Base stations must be able to write to this
folder which should be created in the TFTP server's working
directory.

Syslog server. Base stations must be able to write to this server.
DNS server Only required if you are using host names to access
network nodes.
Notes:
Strata CIX or IPedge system, NTP, and Syslog servers must be
available at all times.
All base stations must be on the same subnet.

Important!
The base station and handsets must have the same
version firmware. Ensure that the base station and
handsets have the latest software installed.
