14 Servicing and Parts Replacement

14.7.3 Thermal Print Head Replacement

Please make sure not to scrape the undersurface of the
Print Head at all times.

Make sure that the Main Power switch is OFF & that th
scale is unplugg
ed.
3.
Remove all labels & backing paper from the printer & set
the Print Head to its locked-down position.
4.
Remove the 2 front screws on
the Paper Cutter (if present.)
5.
Set the Print Head to its unlocked position and g
the Print Head out of the scale towards the front
attached to the Print Head. If you have not removed the Upper Case, you may need to angle the
Print Head so as to be able to pull it through the Upper Case print
6.
Unplug the ribbo
n cable from the Print Head.
7.
Remove the 2 screws that hold the TPH Sub-Bracket
8.
Attach the 2 screws & the TPH Sub-Bracket to the new Print Head.

Attach the ribbon cable to the Print H

0. Reassemble by following reverse order.
14.7.4 Gap Sensor Assembly Replace
1.
Follow all of the directions in section 0 first.
2.
Unplug connector J15 on main PCB.
3.
Remove the 2 screws attached to the Gap Sensor Asse

Remove the Gap Sensor A
5.
Reassemble in reverse order.
6.
Once scale is completely reassembled, you must
recalibrate the Peel & Gap sensors.

14.7.5 Peel Sensor Assembly Replacement

1.
Follow all of the directions in sect

Unplug the connectors at

Remove the screw attached to the Peel Sensor Assembly
and also remove the screw on the IR LED Assembly.

Remove the IR LED & Peel Sensor Assemblies & replace
with new ones.

Remember to attach new cable ties in the same place as
before.
7.
Reassemble in reverse order.
