Microsoft Lync Edition Administrator's Guide for SIP-T2_Series and T4_Series IP Phones
Reboot
When the phone connects to the network and is powered on, it automatically checks if
an update is available on Lync server, regardless of whether a Lync user signs on the
phone. If there is an update available on Lync server, the phone will automatically
update firmware.
Sign-in
If the phone is powered on, and a user signs in, the phone automatically checks if an
update is available on Lync server after the designated time.
If there is an update available, and the phone is on the idle screen, the phone LCD
screen pops up a dialog box "New firmware, update now?". You can press the OK soft
key to update immediately or the Cancel soft key to cancel the update.
If there is an update available, but the phone is not on the idle screen, the dialog box
will pop up with a delay of 10 minutes after the phone returns back to the idle screen.
Sign-out
If the phone is powered on, and no user signs in, the phone automatically checks if an
update is available on Lync server after the designated time. If there is an update
available, the phone will automatically update firmware.
Note
The IP phone will not perform an update check when a user signs in/out. It only performs
an update check after the designated time. The designated time will be cleared when
the phone reboots or a user signs in/out.
If there is no update available on Lync server, the IP phone does not prompt any
message after the designated time.
