COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERA
TIONAL STATE AND TROU
BLESHOOTING TIP
Input current is approaching a
high limit.
Compressor speed will automati
cally slow down. The outdoor
control will continue sending the
inverter speed demanded by the
thermostat.
The outdoor control will set indoor
CFM and outdoor RPM to values
according to demand percentage
rather than the actual Hz.
Heat sink temperature is ap
proaching limit.
The compressor speed automati
cally slows to reduce heat sink
temperature.
The control sets indoor CFM and
outdoor RPM to values according
to demand percentage rather than
the actual Hz.
Feedback from supplier tear
down of inverter indicates that the
screws that hold the inverter to
the inverter board were loose
causing poor contact between
these two components.
Tighten screws that hold the heat
sink to the inverter control board.
NOTE: Wait five minutes to all ca
pacitor to discharge before
checking screws.
Compressor slowdown due to

The control sets indoor CFM and
outdoor RPM to values according
to demand percentage rather than
the actual Hz.
Possible issue is system running
at high pressures.
Check for high pressure trips or
other alert codes in room thermo
stat and outdoor control.
This condition occurs when com
