Switching the server on and off

The indicators and controls for switching on and off can be found in Figure
page 49 or in table 2 on page

CAUTION!
It nothing appears on the screen but flickering stripes after switching on
the server, switch the server off immediately (see chapter
shooting and tips" on page
The On/Off button does not disconnect the server from the mains. Pull
out the power plug to completely disconnect the server from the line
voltage.
Switching the server on
– Starting up for the first time:
Ê Press the On/Off button.
Ê Insert the ServerStart Disc in the CD/DVD drive.
Ê Follow the on-screen instructions (see also section
server" on page
– System already installed:
Ê Press the On/Off button.
The server is switched on, performs a system test and boots the
operating system.
Switching the server OFF
Power-on indicator lights up green.
Ê Shut down the operating system properly.
The server is switched off automatically and goes into standby mode. The
power on indicator lights up orange.

If the server does not switch off immediately, hold the On/Off button down
for at least four seconds or send a corresponding control signal.
