1.2 Features
System board
The features of the system board are described in the technical manual for the
system board D2532 for the hardware and in the "BIOS Setup" for the firmware
(see "Literature" on page 77).
Hard disk drives
Two basic versions of the server are available, fitted with either SATA or SAS
hard disk drives.
SAS server version:
The server has a drive cage in which one or two SAS hard disk drive modules
can be inserted. Each hard disk drive (HDD) module can accept an SAS hard
disk drive with a maximum height of 1 inch. The module is connected to the SAS
backplane without cables via the SAS interface. This allows hard disk drive
modules to be easily plugged in or removed. If the server has a corresponding
RAID configuration, defective HDD modules can also be replaced during
operation.
SATA server version:
With the standard design, the server has a drive cage in which up to two SATA
hard disk drives with an "easy change" drive frame and a maximum height of
1 inch are fitted. There is a wire connection to the controller. Defective HDD
modules cannot be replaced during operation.
