SnapServer GuardianOS 7.2 Administrator's Guide
GuardianOS 7.0 introduces the following features and functionality:

New Functionality
DynamicRAID simplifies storage management and
provides additional configuration options not available in
Traditional RAID. A SnapServer can be purchased with any
amount of initial storage (or number of drives), and more
capacity can be added over time by inserting or replacing
drives and incorporating the new drive(s) via the Web
Management Interface (see
page 4-2
for DynamicRAID and
Spare to RAID" on page
removed at will, and all volumes share the same
underlying pool of storage. The appliance can also be run
in Traditional RAID mode to allow more direct control over
storage configuration.
Traditional RAID mode allows for the manual management
of the RAID sets. RAID sets 0, 1, 5, 6, or 10 can be
manually created and configured, snapshots are limited by
volume settings, and RAIDS must be manually deleted and
recreated to change them.
