Ü Route the starter motor lead, wire harness, and
positive battery lead over the boss of the upper
rear cover.
Ý Route the negative battery lead between the
leads and the battery.
Þ Fasten the V-belt replacement indicator reset
coupler with the battery band.
ß Install the negative battery lead terminal to the
starter motor bolt hole that is closest to the cylin-
der.

CABLE ROUTING
À Route the starter motor lead and negative bat-
tery lead below the boss on the left engine
bracket as shown.
Á Install the battery band with its projection in the
recess in the top of the battery case.
Fasten the starter motor lead, wire harness,

and positive battery lead with a plastic band.
Face the end of the plastic band towards the
front of the scooter.
